Tandem Skydive

Tandem skydiving is an exiting way to experience your first freefall jump and parachute ride. You are securely fastened to your tandem instructor in a dual harness, and because everything is controlled by your instructor only a 10 minute briefing is required.

The Tandem Master is in control of the skydive at all times and may let you steer the parachute if it is appropriate at the time. The flight takes around 20 minutes, the spectacular scenic views before you leave the plane are all part of this exhilarating experience.

When you are in freefall feel free to yahooo as you reach speeds of 200kph! The parachute ride can be a wild ride with exciting spiral turns or a gentle scenic flight. Whichever you prefer. Freefall is maintained for approximately 35 seconds before the parachute is deployed at 5000ft and approximately five minutes of parachute flight time is achieved. Your tandem instructor will steer the parachute in for a soft touchdown at the landing area.

All tandem riders with Skydive Waikato are eligible for a $10 discount on one of our Static Line courses, should they decide to try that at a later date! There is a weight limit of 95kgs. Almost anyone can do a tandem skydive, although if you are under 16 years of age you will need parental consent. We will supply all the equipment you need including the jumpsuit. Please wear comfortable clothing and sandshoes.
